Estate Gardener
Our client currently have an exciting opportunity to join their very well established but always growing business as an Estate Gardener for a high-profile private client on a prestigious 70-acre Berkshire estate.
The estate comprises extensive high end formal gardens, parklands, waterways and features, woodlands and leisure facilities.
It would be preferred if the candidate had a recognised horticultural qualification, but this is not essential. Training in the ways of good horticultural practice will be provided on the job.
The candidate should have strong experience of high-end gardening, with private estate team work preferred.
Day to day responsibilities include, but are not limited to;
All aspects of horticulture; specialised and more general
All aspects of lawn care
Chemical applications and record keeping (PA1 & PA6 required) subject to training and supervision as required
Ground clearance and seasonal work
Sweeping and maintenance of hard surfaces / furniture within the gardens
Tending to borders and lawns
Specialised pruning and trimming
Care of artificial tennis court - under instruction
Maintenance of waterways, lakes and stream, irrigation system
Safe operation of machinery subject to training

A full clean driving licence and own transport are preferred due to location of the estate.
They are able to offer a competitive salary between £24,500 - £27,000 for the right candidate, dependent on experience and qualifications and 28 days holiday inclusive of bank holidays. Uniform, PPE and relevant training will be provided.
