Job Overview:
Our client is seeking an experienced Project Manager or Quantity Surveyor to join their growing team. This role is ideal for someone with a solid understanding of project management and cost control within the landscape design and build sector. You will oversee projects from initial planning to final delivery, ensuring that they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage multiple garden design and build projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget
  • Oversee all aspects of project delivery, including planning, procurement, resource allocation, and subcontractor management
  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress and quality, ensuring work meets company and client standards
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets, and financial reports for each project
  • Monitor project costs, identify cost-saving opportunities, and implement corrective actions as necessary
  • Collaborate with the design team to ensure design concepts are translated effectively into buildable plans
  • Negotiate contracts with suppliers, subcontractors, and clients
  • Ensure health and safety compliance on all projects
  • Provide regular project updates and reports to clients and senior management
  • Mentor and guide junior staff or subcontractors, ensuring high-quality workmanship and adherence to timelines
  • Handle project documentation, including contracts, change orders, and invoices
  • Manage relationships with clients, ensuring clear communication and a high level of customer satisfaction

Key Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience in project management or quantity surveying, preferably within landscaping, construction, or a related field
  • Strong knowledge of project planning, budgeting, and cost control
  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to read and interpret design plans, blueprints, and technical drawings
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to manage relationships with clients, suppliers, and contractors
  • Good understanding of health and safety regulations in construction and landscaping
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
  • A relevant qualification in Project Management, Quantity Surveying, or Construction Management is desirable
  • Experience using project management software or financial tracking tools is a plus
  • A full, clean UK driving licence is essential
