As the Senior Gardener you will work closely with the Landscape Team Leader daily to help lead and organise the friendly gardens team. You will be a passionate and a qualified gardener with good plant knowledge and maintenance driven works. Previous experience of leading teams would be advantageous. The successful applicant will help ensure our award-winning gardens across Belgravia and Mayfair are maintained to a very high standard. Key ResponsibilitiesÂ
Able and willingness to support and deputise for the Team LeaderÂ
Â
To provide horticultural knowledge and guidance to the team of Gardeners and apprentices.Â
To undertake all horticultural duties to ensure that the gardens are maintained and developed to a high standard.Â
Ability to supervise, motivate and manage a team of gardeners in amenity maintenance,Â
Provide occasional guided walks, horticultural advice to all stakeholders including Grosvenor staff, charities, and students.Â
To ensure all Gardeners are appropriately trained and carry out all duties in line with the Health & Safety Policy.Â
Assist in the design and implementation of soft landscaping schemes for existing gardens and proposed projects.â?¯Â
A good understanding and experience of implementing relevant health and safety legislation and practice.â?¯Â
Where necessary and appropriate, to instruct, co-ordinate and control external contractors such as tree surgeons, grounds maintenance operatives and plant suppliers. Â
To ensure that all changes in legislation, new codes of practice, new official guidance and new working practices are communicated to your team.Â
Knowledge of plant identification with significant practical experience in horticulture supported by relevant.Â
Supervisory experience working in a similar garden statue.Â
To have good communication skills within a team environment.Â

Key RequirementsÂ

Good practical horticulture experience, youâ??ll have an NVQ3 in Amenity Horticulture (or equivalent) coupled with a good knowledge of plants and maintenance gardening.Â
PA1 and PA6 spraying certificates are desirable.â?¯Â
Should possess a full UK driving licence and be up to date with current health and safety legislation.â?¯Â
