MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

Grass cutting (ride on and pedestrian) Strimming Pruning Weeding Shrub and Border Maintenance Hedge cutting Leaf and Litter picking Sweeping/cleansing Herbicide application.

A full range of horticultural work as required by the contracted works.

Report and return any broken machinery to your line manager.

Ensure skips are loaded correctly, both general waste skip and green waste skips.

MAIN DUTIES:

Personal Qualities - Well presented, punctual, good mannered and respectful to all.  Vocationally trained, with a high level of experience on site and able to deliver projects to the highest quality consistently and to budget.  

Team Player - You will be able to take instruction and discuss any issues clearly.  You will make a positive contribution to the team and be prepared to meet all challenges in a positive and constructive manner.       

Leadership - Act as a role model for your work team, to demonstrate behaviours consistent with that of a team leader and to behave appropriate to this position.  You will also pass on your knowledge and skills, providing onsite training for your team.  You will be able to plan your teams workload to ensure maximum efficiency.

Communication - You will communicate clearly and positively with all parties including the customer and the public, setting and meeting targets and deadlines and ensuring the efficient use of resources.   Work mobiles will be kept with you at all times and answered immediately when safe to do so. You will also ensure that all personal calls are restricted to lunch and tea breaks except in an emergency.

Team Management - You will have day to day responsibility for team members whilst on site and the project they are working on.  Your primary responsibility is for both the quality of the work and meeting work rate targets and deadlines.  You will also be responsible for the behaviour of team members, their adherence to site rules and the appearance of the team and vehicles.

Materials, Plant and Tools - It is your responsibility to ensure that you have the correct materials, plant and tools to complete the job.  All requests and orders will be phoned through to the office giving as much notice as possible.  You will also ensure that the daily maintenance of the vehicles, plant and tools is carried out and company property is looked after and respected.

Health & Safety - The team leader will be responsible for the day-to-day health and safety of the team.  You will ensure that all team members are trained and competent in the tasks they have been asked to complete, and all works will be completed in accordance with idverdeâ??s health and safety policy, risk assessments and method statements.

Quality â?? You will ensure that all your teamâ??s work is completed to the best possible standard in accordance to any instructions and specifications you have been given and to the satisfaction of the client.

 
Based in Wickford covering sites in Essex, Kent, Sussex, London, Herts, Beds

07:00 â?? 16:30 plus O/T, 21 days holiday, uniform provided.

Annual salary equivalent to 12p/h

Immediate start available.

Driving license essential.
