Our client is based on a prestigious site based in Virginia Water, Surrey. They are looking for either a newly qualified, enthusiastic gardener/horticulturist or an experienced gardener with a proven track record of maintenance on high end gardens. The gardens are made up of both formal and informal areas with different designed areas such as Japanese a garden, kitchen garden, lake and streams as well as many more.
Responsibilities:
- All aspects of garden maintenance including:
- Pruning
- Cultivating
- Planting
- Pest and disease identifying/application
- Irrigation system maintenance
- Lake and stream maintenance
- Lawn care works
- Lawn Maintenance
- Hedge cutting
- Topiary works
- Bonsai maintenance
- Spraying of organic pesticides
- Experience in the maintenance and upkeep of outdoor lighting and general handyman duties as required (desirable but not essential)
Person Specification
- Horticultural qualification
- PA1/PA6 desirable
- Experience in a similar role
- Team player
- Good plant knowledge
- Experience using all types of machinery
- Happy to work 1 weekend in 5 (2x half days) with a day off in lieu in the week
- You will need to drive as the location is not near a local public transport
