Our Client is the UKâ??s fastest growing external maintenance and commercial landscaping company who are currently looking for a Landscape Architect to join the Team on a short term contract basis.

As a multi-award winning company, my Client holds 33 BALI National Landscape Awards for a range of Landscaping and Grounds Maintenance projects, a Queenâ??s Award for Enterprise in Innovation, and a total of 9 RoSPA Gold Awards for Occupational Health & Safety.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Landscape Architect to join our join our Consultancy Practice, GC Design based within a five-minute walk of Billericay Station.

Role and Responsibilities

Working within a multi-disciplined team, you will be given the opportunity to work on a range of projects for a wide variety of clients across the UK. We are seeking a talented and enthusiastic Landscape Architect to join our team and work alongside our other landscape architects, Ecologists and Arboricultural Managers.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering a high quality of professional service on time and within budget.
  • Ability to work within a larger design team
  • Preparing landscape schemes that fulfil the client brief.
  • Producing a range of landscape drawings/ reports for all development stages
  • Site survey inspections/visits
  • Client meetings
  • Working proactively and developing strong relationships with the wider consultancy team and various company divisions.
  • Fee Preparation & Tendering
  • Cost Control

 

Requirements:

  • The candidate will ideally have some, but not necessarily all, of the following:
  • A degree in landscape design / Landscape Architecture or equivalent.
  • Be â??Charteredâ?? landscape architect or â??licentiateâ?? member undertaking â??Pathway to Chartershipâ??.
  • Be fluent in the use of AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp and Microsoft Office packages.
  • The ability to demonstrate strong design and creative abilities.
  • Strong attention to detail, a high level of accuracy.
  • A good team player with a willingness to support other team members to meet changing client demands & deadlines
  • Sound written & verbal communication skills, including report writing.
  • Good horticultural/landscape planning construction processes, including design & build working.
  • Solid understanding hard and soft landscape construction detailing
  • An understanding of BS 5837:2012 â??Trees in relation of constructionâ?? and general arboricultural works.
  • An understanding of ecology and environmental matters
  • Good Health & Safety awareness and understanding of duties under CDM Regs.
  • Sound understanding of Maintenance & Management requirements for various types of landscape.
  • Hold a full clean driving license with the ability to work throughout the UK.
