Plant Buyer

Due to the growth in shop and increased business one of our clients are thrilled to announce that they are recruiting for a number of positions within the Garden Centre.  One of these positions is for a Plant Buyer.

Responsibilities

  •          Experience of purchasing bedding plants on a commercial scale
  •          Liaising with suppliers for the best possible terms and quality plants
  •          Working with the department Manager with regards to incoming goods
  •          Informing stock control and accounts of terms and discounts agreed
  •          Working as part of the plants team
  •          Buyer administration duties
  •          Undertake such other duties as may be required in the post

Person Specification

  •          Thrive in a busy and fast moving environment
  •          Possess some relevant retail experience
  •          Have excellent people skills
  •          Understand the importance of customer service
  •          Enjoy working as part of a highly motivated team
  •          Participate in housekeeping tasks around the garden centre
  •          Be flexible and prepared to work in all areas of the garden centre as required be adaptable, flexible and enthusiastic

Please note that this position includes weekends to be worked on a rota basis and Bank Holidays.
