Operations Manager

Our client is a recognised leader in landscape design and construction. This is a rare opportunity to join a landscape company and grow with that Company. Evidence of experience and references are essential. The company works predominantly in SW and West London, Surrey and the Home Counties - Applicants will only be considered if they live locally and/ or are able to travel directly to sites across this area. This client is looking for an Operations Manager for Landscape Design & Construction Company, to assist the Managing Director in the efficient running of the company, ensuring all financial, quality and customer service targets are consistently met.

 

Responsibilities

  • The Operations Manager will supervise allocated projects to ensure their timely and profitable completion
  • Supervision of staff and sub-contractors on site
  • Procurement of job materials and the management of plant and equipment
  • Preparation and completion of job documentation to include job start up (Risk assessments, H&S forms, work schedule) and job completion( quality control evaluations, snagging lists, client sign off etc) for all job projects allocated
  • Overseeing of projects including job allocation, project planning, start up, site preparation, setting out, logistics of deliveries and managing of project progress to meet deadlines
  • Regular and frequent reporting to Director(s)
  • Keeping in touch with clients when visiting site and reporting of any issues back to project manager / director
  • The Operations manager will be available as a hands on landscaping resource if required to
  • Managing the Companyâ??s assets (uniforms, tools and equipment) in an efficient and productive manner
  • Assisting with site surveys and input to the estimating process e.g: labour hours if requested to do so and if time allows
  • Offering advice and feedback on suppliers, resources, methodology and planning when appropriate
  • Adherence to the procedures and completion of forms as directed by the Company (to include diary management)
  • Undertaking other ancillary tasks / projects as and when required to do so
  • Undergoing formal and on the job training, as & when required

 

Person Specification

  • Applicants should ideally have a minimum of 4 yearsâ?? experience in a supervisory role.
  • Well presented, punctual, good mannered
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Effective team leadership skills
  • Experience of managing projects and resources
